Players must use all their power to survive until the first ray of sunlight arrives the next morning.

Background setting

The background of the game is set in a huge open world with ominous day and night cycles. Character setting

Player character

Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the game, the only character the player can control. The background is a member sent to Harran by the government’s defense forces.

Similar to some adventure games, the protagonist has health, experience and skill points. There are three types of skills: survival skills, agility skills and strength skills. The role of each type is different. The skills of the game are displayed in a skill tree. Players who want to acquire more powerful skills need to learn their prerequisite skills.

NPC

In the game, in addition to facing countless zombies, players also have to rescue some refugees trapped by zombies. They may trigger some side missions, such as asking players to find certain items. When they are rescued, they will give players some Items and help.

Of course, not all NPCs are friendly to the protagonist. Some are hostile. They also have their own camps and may attack the protagonist.

Scene map

The game is divided into slums, old towns, and antenna areas. Players will open up a larger area as the plot mission develops.

In the early stage of the game, players can only stay in the slums and move around freely after opening more areas. Players in the game want to go to different areas, and they can only go through teleportation at a specific place. There are many safe houses with green icons in these areas. Players can use these safe houses to teleport anywhere in the same area.

The game uses a seamless map, except for special locations, players will not load when entering any room.

Featured System

Mission system

The tasks in the game are mainly divided into main tasks and side tasks. The main task is also a story task. The player will automatically accept the next task after completing a main task. The completion of the main task means the end of the game. Side quests are a way for the game to get rewards. Players can accept different side quests from the NPC in the safe house. These tasks have no particular impact on the main storyline. The main purpose is to gain experience and rewards.

Combat system

The game is mainly based on melee weapons in combat, and the basic combat operations and methods are the same as those in the “Dead Island” series. For example, continuously waving weapons will consume the character’s physical strength, and the character’s actions will become quite slow when the physical strength returns to zero. In the game, players using weapons to hit the zombie will cause corresponding damage. If you aim at the head of the zombie, you can perform a headshot attack. A powerful weapon for a headshot attack is almost a killer.

Game Reviews

“Dying Light” has excellent graphics and exquisite, vast open world, but it lacks a new element to make players feel lasting joy. “Dying Light” is like an enhanced version of “Dead Island” with the elements of parkour and day and night.

The game has exciting exploration, rich slaughter rewards and fascinating side missions, but its plain story is not so satisfying for players. Although the plot of “Dying Light” is unremarkable, the high-speed parkour and terrifying zombies make it extremely charming.
