Rulong (Japanese version name: 龙が如く, English version name: Yakuza) is an action adventure game series created and published by the game company SEGA. The first book was released on December 8, 2005. The series focuses on Ichima Kiryu, the protagonist of the Dongcheng Society underworld. Kiryu often helps the Dongcheng Association, and the series also tells him about finding another way of life by adopting orphans. Rulong’s game method is that players control Kiryu Ichima in the open world (or control other characters in some works), encounter enemies or perform certain activities in the city to gain experience points. The series originated from Minhiro Nagoshi’s desire to create a new game about the gang lifestyle. The series sold 7.5 million as of 2015. The strong sales of games in the Japanese domestic market has promoted the diversified development of a series of media, such as adaptations of live-action movies and live-action stage plays.
On July 26, 2016, at the press conference of “Ryulong 6” held in Akihabara, Sega officially announced the title of this work as “Ryulong 6~The Poem of Fate.” “(龙が如く6 命の诗), and the release date of this work has been confirmed as December 8, 2016. At the same time, the images shown on the scene contained information about the “Final Chapter of the Legend of Kiryu Ima”, but it is unclear what the specific hints are. Detailed information will be reported in future announcements.
Yakuza 6 is an action-adventure game set in an open world environment and played from a third-person perspective. It is similar to that of other Yakuza titles with exploration mixed with arcade style over the top combat with ragdoll physics. A more advanced variant of Yakuza 5’s Dragon Spirit Mode, called Extreme Heat Mode, is introduced, where Kiryu becomes temporarily invulnerable as long as his Heat remains, and his combo finishers can turn into Heat actions that take out immense amounts of health. Kazuma Kiryu returns as the main and only playable character and the game features locations of Kamurocho, Tokyo and Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, with just one fighting style returning this time like all titles before Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami.
